Golf Fitness

Golfstick and Surefire you two wee girls want to take your bickering elsewhere its a bit tiresome.
Guys who gives a crap what he's lifting it is actually about lifting what you can manage yourself not everyone is 6ft 4 and built like a brick shithouse.

Sorry didn't realise discussions weren't allowed on a discussion board! ;)

On a serious note, it's not really bickering, there's no name calling or anything, and it's on topic.

As the starter of this topic, I thought you'd be interested in fitness training, and actually hoped my comments were useful.

To be honest they are mate but the bickering is boring,i know its a discussion board but ffs give it a rest :)

I'll call it quits on this topic after this, unless anyone specifically wants some info.

I really wasn't trying to stir or have a silly argument, I was actually trying to educate and be educated myself. Golf fitness training is actually something I am very interested in and passionate about. It's not currently what I do for a living, but I have studied the TPI and CHEK courses, and been involved with a couple of other guys who are relatively big names in the field. Its something I am planning to get into much more in the future and eventually do it for a living.

Hence why when the odd fitness topic does come up, I do like to get stuck in! :D

The TPI site is really good mate i've went on about it for a couple of years, the guy Sean Cochrane is good in it i think :)

tbf steve, ffs u stfu! :) haha only messing, im only voicing my opinions and we werent argueing but flexing our knowledge on the situation as it seems u lot know very little about it :p

On a slight tangent... kettle bells for golf, any good routines online. I am planning on using one in my training once my mancave is completed

Great link by the way Steve.

Cheers mate ,try Gabriel Lopez on youtube there's some on there he's singhs trainer or ask golfstick or surefire mate.

Ah the mancave how's it coming along

On the topic of kettlebells, as I keep banging on about this:

Perhaps not to be done in the mancave though!

i personally think kettle bell throws are not gud, BUT this is just MY OPINION. This is a recipe for pulled muscles and damaging ur self. Its not under control i think. I wouldnt recommend this. Have u looked on some of the fitness websites out there or youtube for kettle bell circuits or compund moves with them

A valid point. Whilst I don't personally think they are outright dangerous, there is an important caveat.
I think what should be mentioned, and this applies generally to most specific, and high speed\power exercises, is that a good base level of strength and flexibility should be developed first.

i do a lot of kettlebell training and well worth having a session or two with a kettlebell trainer to get the right technique using lower weights before building the weight up. also will get you a variety or programmes drawn up to follow

I regularly weight train with a cup of tea in the right hand and a handful of custard creams in the left.
