hi all new member here, I have just had my 1st lesson from a pro and he reckons I need longer clubs as im 6ft 3", im left handed and checked everywhere for clubs one inch longer but cant find any, does anyone know where I could buy a set? thanks.

welcome to the forum

you wont find any off the shelf set at 1" longer, its basically a custom fit upgrade so if you were buying brand new then you would order them at 1" longer and have them made that way

did the pro actually fit you or did he just "guesstimate" that you need 1" longer?

the only place you are likely to find them already at that length would be to have a look at the second hand ones on ebay

As a left hander, sadly you'll find that not a lot of places cater for your needs. It isn't right but I guess it's market forces as most players are right handed. If you struggle, the only options I can see would be to get a custom fitting somewhere or go to the manufacturer. Not ideal. If you can try any left handed models before you decide what to buy then it may narrow your search down.

There are a number of left handers on here so hopefully they'll be along soon with more optimistic views and suggestions

Hello and welcome along :)

There is another option maybe for now rather than going whole hog custom fit route get some shaft extenders fitter maybe even 1/2 to start with.

any pro (including the one you just had a lesson from) can order any spec from any manufacturer.

If you mean a second hand set then evilbay is the obvious choice but buyer beware.

Also golfbidder.co.uk but its whatever they have in stock.

Getting properly fitted would be worth it for your height.

p.s welcome

he jut guessed mate, the probem is im not wanting to spend a fortune on customised gol clubs when im just starting out, was using a standard length 7 iron during lesson and it felt ok, so not sure if I really do need longershafts.

The quick and dirty way to work out how long your clubs need to be is to stand up normally and get someone to measure from your wrist to the floor. This measurement combined with your height gives a very good guide as to the length required

For someone 6'3 then 35" should be the measurement for needing normal length, 36" you add 1/4 inch, 37" you add 1/2 inch, 38" you add an inch. Maybe worth measuring and seeing roughly where you fall on that

I'm a lefty to, I use lefthandedgolf use the net also phone him up. He will do/get anything you want. Good bloke to. Last thing I had from him was a gap wedge to match my clubs. He only had one in with the right shaft. I explained to him I could not afford it until I got paid at the start of the next month. His reply was " No problem don't worry I will put it in the back until your ready for it". Can't ask fairer than that.

just been out to driving range and spoke to the pro who says im better to hang fire till I have another few lessons then he will help decide what clubs to get, he also took a few measurements and it looks like I need an extra 1/2" on shaft, thanks for all replys :)
