the 'club' has very little of it's own, the course is owned and run by a property company so green fees are paid to them and the greenskeepers work for them. The course is kept in reasonable condition though prone to flooding and new works are more with an eye to speeding up play (and hence get more in) than to provide a stiffer test. The property company also owns the bar/restaurant and, very basic, range. The property company also runs residential training courses so gets bar income that way.
Access to the course is pretty easy, only Saturday mornings are booked, Sunday mornings are comps.
the proshop is either independent or has some other arrangement with the property company. it is certainly on par with others in the area and probably has better quality instructors than most.
the 'club' just runs comps and handicaps - most of the social side is among the non-working seniors, so for me is pretty much restricted to after the winter medals. Outside of that it's a pint after a round, ok if you just want to play.
the frequency of closure is starting to get to me though, so another track not much further away needs investigating.
