I played at Western Gailes yesterday and for lunch had the plate shown in the photo. Mince, toast and poached eggs. It was on the menu ! and also very nice

Which got me thinking, does your club have unusual delicacies for you to enjoy.

Need to go get some lunch now, made myself hungry ;)

I enjoyed a Haggis roll at Royal Troon, tasty!

My club doesn't have a particular specialty, although they do a good line in home-made cakes.

I had this in the R&A clubhouse once - a very traditional golf dish. Went nicely with the claret you know.

Not unusual, but we have lovely salmon fishcakes at our place .

Yep - the mince and egg is served at R&A. Traditional

I'm deffo a burger a and chips man post round

No crazy offerings at my club, but when new caterer took over they started serving food on 'slates'
Unfortunately they did not upgrade the bar stock to include craft beers.

I played at Dalmahoy. Before the round I ordered a couple of bacon rolls. Couldn't believe it when they arrived with salad on the roll too.

usually stick with the burger and chips off the menu, best one i had was at Silvermere ,huge burger and very tasty.
not heard of the OP dish of mince and toast with a cackleberry thrown on top.
obviously we have a slightly more cultured taste darn sarf.:p

Not unusual but Hayling do an absolutely superb sausage bap which any of my guests will testify to

That mince looks tasty!

Jellied eels....that's all I'm saying ;)
Mind you round our way they put sausages in a beef pie....how weird is that.

Love a beefburger, haggis and poached egg roll.

Awesome.

At Portstewart a few years back we were recommended the bacon and egg soda by the chef. It did not disappoint.

It appears that this combination isn't as strange as I first thought.

As a bit of a generalisation, most golf club food always seems to be pretty decent

Bap + a combination of bacon, sausage, mushrooms, fried egg. A portion of chips to share. What more do you need, what more do you want? We're golfers, it is enough.
