Can you tell me more about the g3 ,?
Like whats happens when you miss hit a shot onto wrong fairway ect

My Mate has the G3 and likes it a lot gives him the correct yardages from wherever he is. The only thing you have to ask yourself is do you want to wear a watch whilst playing golf? if you do then no problems.

Funny how the buddy voice has a wrist strap option now !!

save a little more and the get Garmin S3 watch, superb in every way

Incidently the charging is fine on the S1 just a tad fiddly lining the charger clip to the back pins, but it works fine

The S3 has an improved charging lead

£219 at DG, get their £10 off voucher so now £209 for a very very nice GPS watch

I have the G5 but is very much the same as the G3, it has handy strap & clip to go on your bag or can be hand held .

Great value , it shows you the Hole number in the top l/h corner, so a quick check tells you which hole IT is on if YOU do go on to wrong fairway , underneath the hole number ther are dots , number of dots equal par of hole .. you can set it to move automaticaly from hole to hole , but there is a manual option at bottom of screen for the times you go astray , yardage is to the flag in the centre of the green , but you can click on the screen to move the flag to get closer exact yardage .

it has touch screen so if you want to know how far to go to a hazard you can touch the screen & get yardage .

It has a vast ammount of courses pre loaded , updates are free and are 4 /4 times a year ( i think) updating is simple ..
It takes 2 AA batteries that will last you 2 to 3 rounds per set .. very simple , very user friendly & very good oh and waterproof

Have you watched mark crossfields review about the s3? I really like the look of it but the only downside is that if your playing a new course and are taking on a dog leg, you don't know the distance to the dog leg so you don't over shoot. That for me is a negative! A laser or handheld gps with screen layout will. But, the s3 is so simple, nothing to faff about with aiming or getting it out your bag each time, simple and (looks) easy!

Garmin S3 shows layup and dogleg distances as standard on all loaded courses

Plus has the "Add hazard save feature to add upt to 5 additional hazards per hole at your local course
