I'm talking T-Shirts really.....

The reason i ask is beacuse I bought a nike golf t-shirt a couple of months ago, i've worn it approx 6 times and its already faded and looking warn yet my other t-shirts (i'm not embarassed to say Primark) seem to have lasted longer. One of them i've warn about 20 times and its still in great condition.

Whilst I know Primark isn't for everyone I'm damned if i'm paying over £25 for a T-shirt that i'm going to ruin whilst searching through the bushes and trees etc....

Have to say I got a great deal last night on plain Callaway golf shirts. I got 3 for £35 instead of £19.99 each. Got a red one (for my Tiger charge) a light blue one and a bright yellow one for the summer. I've no qualms about looking in the bushes in these but have no intention of going in there in the first place.

Have to reiterate what I've said on previous posts about clothing, I'm one of those who believes if you look good you play good. Most of my golf shirts are either Callaway or Nike and to be fair apart from one Callaway navy blue shirt most of mine have kept their colour pretty well.

If I was you I'd be taking the Nike shirt back to the point of purchase. I'd insist that I followed the washing instructions and that you want a refund.

I'm definitely one to wear better known brands, not neccesarily specifically golf however. I have a few polo ralph lauren articles, as well as the usual Nike, Callaway and Adidas.

Fair play Minty- save the money from the shirts and put it towards quality technical clothing for inclement weather where you'll feel the benefit more.

ive mentioned it before but one of those close fitting climate tops from CCC or Helly Hanson slip neatly under a polo and keep you warm when it's chilly and dry when things heat up.

Best bit of kit ive bought.

Nothing wrong with a Primark polo in my book. Most of mine are either M&S or there's a green Royal Signals one I like. Only other branded one I might consider would be one with the clubs' crest on it.

I wouldn't mind paying up to about £20 for a t-shirt but thats really the maximum for me. I've got a load of £50+ t-shirts in the wardrobe but they'll be staying there for the pub/club scene.

I do try to stay clear of the bushes and tree's but i'll usually end up in them once a round atleast.

I play in Dunlop shirts (my daughter got me three for Xmas from "the place that shall not be mentioned") and a Callaway Driver.

Yesterday, I played with a Geezer who had a Callaway shirt and a Dunlop Driver....(£9.99).....

His driving was terrible, but at least he looked the bizz.
(in fairness, one drive did actually go very well....1 out of 7 :))

Backwards man, you know what i mean.

I call anything with short sleeves a t-shirt. I wouldn't wear a round neck t-shirt on a golf course.

i wear ralph lauren & tommy hilfiger polos as well as slazenger and robe di kappa. if you like the colours i really recommend the Slazenger shirts because they dont wear out, kept their colour even in the bright south african summer sun and are a bargain at 15 euro

I find the same Parmo. If I'm out and about, you might see me in a subtle Ashworth or similar, but nothing screaming CALLAWAY!!! or PING!!! (look at me, I'm a golfer).

My callaway shirts are the epitome of understated class I'll have you know Dave. Actually I agree with you. How often do you see the guy in Tesco with all the golf gear on doing his weekly shop and you think a) he's an all the gear merchant b) his back from a game and lazy or had a bad round or c) thinks mens fashion starts and ends with golf shirts

I was going to suggest that dave gets a suitable MacGregor tartan but there seem to be dozens of them. Can any of you North of the border enlighten we ignorant sassenachs as to why?

Nothing wrong with wearing brands at all, I just have a coronary when I see the price. Just got the latest DG catelogue in the post and note some new nike shirts are £40.00. I use some clubs that cost less than that.
