Golf - Art or Science?

I think it is more of a science purely because no matter how you swing the club their is one objective/ subjective criteria to any good shot- a square club face which means whilst how you get to this position can be an art the actual matter of hitting a golf ball is strictly a science as you have to get to this position to hit the ball straight.

This is a great thread by the way- I can't remember who posted it but nice one :D It should be a contender for the what you're talking about section of the mag.

At what point does science and the pedagogical approach to teaching translate into art?

My original question was more geared to the approach to playing and experiencing the game. But I'll bite. My guess would be when the pupil can emulate the master sufficiently to execute without consideration to method.

:)

Golf is science without a doubt..
Art comes from the mental side of the game and each individual!

If every golfer followed the science then everyone would be the same or near as.

A4 ...A standard size of paper A0 being largest usual size, the higher the number the smaller. Esentially each size is a halved piece of the prior.

Most people write on A4 or A5. (A5 esentially being A4 cut in two.) There is also other varients that don't fall into this standard for letter writing.

Oh & If My swing were compared with an artists work it would probably be by Picasso or similar. One of the odd looking ones.
