Going without fairway woods

I like the variety it offers. We have several 200+ yard par threes which can be a 3 or 5 wood depending on conditions and several holes where a driver in summer will definitely go too far and put you in trouble. A 3 or 5 puts you in perfect position. Ideal on away courses which are narrow and need positioning and not overpowering

Anybody play without a fairway wood? Can't remember the last time I used mine on course, don't use it off the tee as confident with the driver, and never really use it off the deck much as not confident. My course doesn't really call for it, on the par 5's where I put the ball off the tee I'm usually on a down slope or side slope so not really an ideal lie for a fw anyway. fwiw on a flush hit it's 20 yards further than my hybrid

You have explained quite clearly as to why you don't play a FW wood. Makes perfect sense. Different course etc then a different issue
