LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR: THIS IS NOT A SEXIST RANT !!!!!!!!!!

I had the misfortune of watching some of thie Solheim Cup. What an insult to those fantastic characters who have worked tirelessly to have womens golf taken seriously and give the respect it deserved. I am sure Annika Sorenstam and the likes will be embarrassed by the antics of the two teams , the USA team in particular.

FACE PAINTS ????????????? Give me strength !!!!
My little girl is 4 and she wouldn't have that done NOW.

Could you imagine Tiger and Monty turning up for the Ryder cup with this pish on their faces? NO, because they respect the sport and the etiquette that goes with it.

This is just like some Disney pile of propoganda SHITE you expect from America. Have their effin team originate from out with 'the states' anyway.

I am all for patriotism but this is farcical. It was intolerable 2 years ago and now it is making a mokery of this distinguished and classic competition.

Someone should take both captains aside and tell them
'LOOK LASSIES, YER TEAM LOOK LIKE ERRSES, THE PAINTS HAVE GOT TO GO BUT YOU CAN KEEP THE MASKARA AND LIPPY. OH AND TRY AND PLAY GOLF NOT POSING AT EVERY OPERCHANCITY'

I think I have said enough.

Not a fan then Madandra ;)

To be honest I have to agree with you, it's awful. I thought 2 Years ago was bad enough but this year it's turned into a complete and utter circus !!

Sadly the golf made pretty poor viewing too. Admittedly the weather didn't help them much but even so you'd expext the worlds best female golfers to make a better show of it than they did.

DHM.

it just proves that the LPGA has dumbed down the game to make it more of a TV spectacle.

You NEVER turn on the Golf Channel and see them fighting through 40 mph winds and sleek greens. They are not testing themselves at all. Look at Tiger, he travels the world to play different courses to test his ability and develop a complete game.

Thats a great point about our so called super Pro's playing world wide. When was the last time you seen Tiger, Phil or Monty walking sideways into a gale force wind with driving rain? It's been a long time!!!!!! I think I could be as good as some of the all so rans if I was getting lifted and laid in super weather condititions. The only way these guys get wet is if they sweat. Do you ever watch them whem they play St Andrews in October their all happed up like fish supers. God help them

Reason being the Tour is designed to follow the sunshine although you can't always predict the weather. The Dunhill Links had pretty rough wind a couple of years back - especially at Kingsbarns.

Pro's can't be blamed. They can only turn up to the events that are scheduled - can't look at the weather forecast and say "its blowing a gale in Koln this week, lets play the tournament there"

Back to main topic - Solheim Cup - What harm is the facepaints doing? Must admit, prefer Creamer and the likes without it but at the end of the day - what is the harm? Golf hasn't been that great for scoring but has been good to watch for matchplay - Davies' 3 at 16 yesterday afternoon was a cracker to watch - it's the kind of thing we'd do!

About Tiger travelling the world! Lets not put this guy on too big a mantle - he goes to China for the $$$$$ and plays the Major. I don't see his desire to play the Dunhill Links or for the Portugese Open publicised that often?

Let the ladies have their fun...
