I love the action shots in that set of pics. It's cool to see the ball in the air a split second after leaving the clubface, whether off the tee or out of a bunker etc. Great job!

I'm just about to join West Malling, but I guess I'm too late for the game with GM though.
Are the guys at WM forum members do we know??
If so at least I'll be able to make enquiries and tap them up for a game there when I join in March!

Hi Bunker, was wondering why west malling?
I am thinking of joining the ridge as it is 1st class and gives rights to other courses aswell.
Hopefully can make up a game with you sometime anyhow.

Firstly I live in Leybourne, so course is literally 5 mins from my front door, where as Kent National is approx 30 mins away.
I also know one of the teaching pro's there, so will hopefully rekindle my lessons, (haven't had one for a while).
Also has two very nice courses, and when I went up there at the weekend to enquire about fees etc looked in good condition!! Despite all the rain. Quite a few people out as well so looked to be holding up!
My only problem is that I don't particularly know anyone who plays there, and they don't book tee off times, so am a bit worried about getting a regular game!

If they dont book tee off times, do you just turn up and wait? I would be bladdered in the club house for leaving the first tee lol

Ridge is in Sutton Valence bunker so with you being at leybourne it is out the wrong end of maidstone for ease of travel.
I have the same problem as you mate, I have very little golfing company not belonging to a club and obviously finding playing partners is always a concern when joining.
The courses at W.Malling are pretty good from what I have heard, you are probably making the right choice I would say.

I left west malling last week and joined fawkham valley.
It works out 1250 a year now although you get 5o back twice for the bar. the course is ok but i got bored of it there so i joined fawkham valley, it costs me 400 a year as im under 28 so it gives me freedom pay for green fees elsewhere, also its turn up and play too. The only reasons i joined west malling was its locality, and turn up and play when you want. theres some nice friendly people there, and theres also some idiots who think there gods gift,, im sure your'll distinguish them quickly.
I would of joined the ridge if the fees didnt go up this year as i think its a good course. But you cant turn up and play. From what i heard Kent national smashes weast malling in terms of quality. I drive 30 mins to my club now it doesnt bother me.

Always ask for discount in the pro shop at west malling cos everthing is over priced. !!
