Glastonbury 2022

Whatever your thoughts on the standard of Paul McCartney's vocal abilities these days - to be billed behind Billie Eilish is an insult.

And Diana Ross must be smarting as well.

The whole list looks like a triumph of quantity over quality!

he's not. she's headlining one night, he's headlining another.

Tbh the last 20 years its just looked mainstream. Went a few times late 80's, 90 and the last time in 96 and even then it was way too big and had lost its edge.

The bone redeeming feature is seeing (via the TV coverage) some bands you don't know or perhaps wouldn't give a second look at. Royal Blood is a prime example. Saw their set a few years back and was knocked out and so followed them since. Haven't seen them live...yet but heard it can be a tad lively

The point about the line up is who *doesnt* make it on there. That's vaguely who is on the stages the BBC will have cameras on. There are about another 90 stages across the site.

I've been and happily hardly watched anyone on the main stages, and I've had times where I've hardly left the pyramid. It's massive. Bloody massive.

And it's amazing. Am I fussed about that line up? Not really. Am I gutted I don't have a ticket. Absolutely.

One of the great things about Glastonbury is the range of music on offer, there will be something for everyone.

As for Macca and Miss Ross, both icons responsible for so many great songs over so many years ( ok with the exception of the bloody awful Frog Chorus).
If I had a ticket I’d be there, they aren’t going to be around for ever.

Whilst I'd agree with the sentiment of seeing artists whilst they are still around, it's subject to the caveat that they can still do the business.

Can't speak to Miss Ross, but whilst I'd agree that Macca was responsible for many great songs, the operative word is was; having seen some of his recent performances, he clearly doesn't have what he used to have and there comes a time when you need to accept that and give in gracefully in my opinion.

I'd agree with this and IMHO he should perform without singing too much and let others take over and just play the piano or guitar. Still an absolute legend and does so well to still be in the music industry.

Glastonbury would be to large for me I think now I’m a old bugger, but think this festival looks good and I would get to see The Dead South live.
