Getting out bid

The way I see it is that when I bid, I put in the highest amount I'm prepared to pay - if I get it then fine, if I don't then I wasn't meant to have it in the first place.

What smiffy said.

Justsnipe is one, as is http://www.gixen.com is another one (and the one I use all the time).

It just takes the stress out of using eBay and stops the item's current price from getting inflated. I put in the amount I want to pay and it submits that amount as my "maximum" bid a couple of seconds before the end of the auction. If my max bid is higher than someone else's I win, if it's not, I don't.

It's how I got my MP57's for less than £150 and how I've scored any number of things for not alot of money.

It's not fool proof but you win 99% of the time and if you don't win, you don't end up getting caught up in an eBay bidding war and paying alot more than you wanted to pay.

I have used Auction Stealer for years and have always found it really useful and convenient. It means you don't have to be online when your auction is coming to an end, just set it up and wait!

try my method, wait until the last ten seconds then put in a bid higher than the winning bid with random pence in the amount such as £34.79, Works for me,

Thanks guys but just been out bid.
Put in my maximum bid and it wasn't enough :(

Anyone got a Tivo for sale?

Bob

If you put in your maximum bid and don't get it, sniping won't help.

Not necessarily true.

Putting in your maximum bid on eBay automatically starts the bid increasing to whatever the current highest bid is.

If you don't put any bids in until and the bid stays low, people's maximums sometimes stay low too because they think there isn't alot of interest in the item. So you can sometimes have success using your maximum bid on a last second snipe.
