Getting Data from CLUBV1 for Reports

Hi Folks,

I'd like to get some competition data from ClubV1 competitions for making reports for handicapping. The ClubV1 interface doesn't have anything suitable and it's cumbersome to work with. Meaning loads of manual work and dumping into excel.

Has anyone got API access or any other method of getting the competition data extracted?

I assume you mean the Golf Ireland Clubhouse platform which manages the WHS for Ireland. It has plenty of reports but you can't build your own from scratch.

Regardless it's of no use. What I'm looking to build a record of is competition performance out of ClubV1

For example, winter comps aren't on WHS records and some other non-counting ones too. With proper access to ClubV1 data I could:

- Build trends of scores vs handicap.
- Top 5/10/20.
- Performance in non-counting vs counting.
- Performance in majors vs smaller comps.
- Performance during majors period Year on Year.

I doubt there will be a report builder any time soon. So if I can get access to the dataset directly with an API, the rest can be figured out. Tbf I wouldn't say no to similar access to the back end of GI Clubhouse (built on dotgolf) for WHS info. I believe it's the same platform as England, Scotland, Wales, NZ and Aus.

I've pinged dotgolf and club systems already. We'll see if they get back. By the looks of it, not many people have asked for this previously.

Yeah, I feel you. ClubV1 can be a pain when it comes to extracting competition data for reports or handicapping. Unfortunately, they don't have a straightforward API for it.

You could try scraping it using UI.vision RPA tooling or similar.

@irishgolfer. Do you get anywhere with this ? I ran a junior section for a few years and got no-where with Club V1 ? I'm gonna be involved in the Adult Section now and like you want to be able to dump the data. In my head, if that is not possible, I'm gonna save the files to a defined folder and use Power Query to build the data up - its a pain though

Nothing. Query was ignored by clubv1. Same as when I asked GI

Could be but the UI in clubv1 is buggy in my experience and not reliable. I've limited use of rpa tools so it would take me a lot of time to figure it out. If the scraper could make api calls it might be something to consider.

it is a shame that the raw data is not available, it would be so good to be able to create meaningful reports, I do believe that a few years ago I asked Club Systems if anything existed, nothing came of it.
