HID presented me with a Garmin S1 as an unexpected Christmas present. It is great when working OK but I have a problem with it on my home course.
Our course has 3 loops of 9 each with a name i.e. Welham, Park and Derwent. When switching on the S1 and obtaining a course the menu gives the 3 loops as alternative named courses so I then select whichever is the 'front 9' for the day. No problem, off we go.
After finishing the 9th hole on the selected course the S1 does not automatically update to the ''10th hole' i.e. the 1st hole of the new loop. I assumed I had to solve this by selecting 'end round' after the 9th hole and then reselecting the named second loop of 9, but when entering 'select course' at this point the S1 says 'no course near' despite me being on the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd hole of the next loop. I have only managed to get it to recognise the second loop when I am on the 5th or 6th hole of that loop.
Obviously very frustrating and I have consulted the owners' manual without success. Any one had the same problem?
