Gareth Bale £105m

Saw data from Forbes earlier that shows RM shift 1.5 to 2 million shirts per year. Averaged at €60 per unit theres your fee right there.
Plus sponsorship and rights deals FFP isnt going to worry RM or Barca or even Man U for a while.
 
From what I gather this is a mate of someone I play golf with.... he was contracted to do some work at White Hart Lane a few weeks ago and as an Arsenal fan thought he'd 'wipe his bum' with Bale's shirt... for a laugh

He's currently paying back a £5000 fine for doing so...

I think Bale is also suppose to be one of the faces for the Madrid publicity machine and short sales and so will get a percentage of this on top of signing on fees so he's sorted for life (as though he wasn't already). I think Ronaldo will go and if not can see Bale playing wide and Ronaldo roaming

Don't think Madrid players get merchandise rights. Might av changed but they didn't use to.

I shouldn't think Bale will mind its not as if he will be wearing it again. Did this guy seriously think he would get away with this after his picture was taken?

If they're Madrid fans they'll love it.
Doubt Real would be offering so much if Barca hadn't signed Neymar. The fans will be demanding a massive signing.

50/50 split, always has been iirc.So, Madrid pay massively over the odds for a decent player and get 50% of his image rights, they then sell a player for nearly the same figure who is refusing to sign a new contract with the above 50/50 caveat.The sold player moves to a club ( with the assistance of their two main sponsors) where he's entitled to keep 100% of his image rights.

The upshot is, football is soul-less vacuum of players/owners/agents who don't give a monkeys about supporters and only really care about winning things as it enhances their wages.

So if they sold Ronaldo now for £80m they'd be laughing
