Game Golf - feedback or thoughts?

Great video that, i see one of the stats is 15 foot to the pin how does it know where the pin is?

No idea I'm afraid, not opened it yet :)

They said something about getting round that a while ago, I think they were just assuming a short putt but people didn't like that. Best option I'd say would be to program it so that you tag your putter at the hole after your last putt and it doesn't count the last putt but not sure what they've done.

Just been reading up on the pin placement thing, Apparently there are some snags with 'tagging' the hole (kit could be a yard out so your putts will all be about 3 feet out, everyone would have to go and stand next to the flag at the end, that sort of thing), but apparently you can edit the hole location after the round. So say you know your last putt was 6 feet straight up the green, you can edit the round afterwards and move the pin to that point, the software will then interpret all your yardages in based on that position.

If you can all remember 18 pin positions after the round, you probably don't need Game Golf! Must have amazing memories!

It does tag your last putt but it doesn't know where the pin is so there are no putting stats other than how many

What they said was if you edit the pin position on the software post round it'll adjust all distances and stats with that location in mind. Not tried it, just saying what the Game Golf tech guys said to someone asking the same question.

To be honest I don't think putting stats are it's real benefit, I want to record how many putts but not length or by how much I miss by on a system that is a gps device and it's accuracy isn't going to be totally accurate

Have to say with regards to putting stats the stats that matter are putts per round putts per GIR.

I think the inside 15 yard approach shot is a very handy stat.

Another quickie.....
So you tap your 6 iron and prepare for the shot.
The wind picks up so you drop to a 7 - how does the system keep up with that..?
Getting very itchy fingers about this.....that trigger is gonna get pulled soon I can tell!

It registers both, so you have to remember you've done it, and remove the stroke with the 6 iron in the software when reviewing your round.

Sort of - you don't really have to remember as once you review your round the unplayed 6 iron will be recorded as 0 or 1 yds as you play your 7 iron from where the 6i landed ie the same spot so zero distance and even I can fat it further than that so it is a simple case of clicking 'delete shot' and your sorted.

Clearly not going to do one of those cheesy unboxing videos but one thing that concerned me was that the Game Golf comes in a soft pouch. I want to be able to chuck it in the bottom of my golf bag so it's ready to be used when the mood takes me and would worry it could get damaged when I heave my clubs in and out of the car or something.

Anyway, I've got a Swingsmart from a while ago and it comes in a Gucci little hard case. Tried the Game Golf in it and it's a perfect fit - in fact not shown in these shots but the little charging cable fits in there next to the spare tag you can see. If you have a Swingsmart I'd think the case could be better used to protect your Game Golf which you're likely to want to live in your bag. Just a quick if slightly random thing I thought I'd pass on....

Probably by the fact I post when Game Golf is mentioned you can tell I rate it, it's not to everyones taste fair enough, since April I've logged over 1000 holes with it, I firmly believe it has helped my game, more focussed on wesk areas,
The post round editing is very easy, in fact when you've played well you enjoy seeing the round you've played. The old cliche "there's no pictures on a scorecard" there is now and you can share it on your phone with mates.
Please feel free to add me Paul Murray
