Galvin Green jacket

With a birthday coming up in a few weeks I've asked HID to bankroll a GG waterproof jacket. I'm not looking for a lightweight one as I have a Sunice that is Goretex that is great for summer wear.

So any suggestions as to a good solid, warm in winter, full zip jacket?

Try it on - I tried on loads last year - had the cash and really wanted a GG jacket - ended up with footjoy jacket

GG is great gear I have acquired quite a few items but generally end of season after new colours have come out once the 20-30% discounts appear.

I got both my trousers at the end of the season and my paclite - good savings at both Stainton and Function 18

If it's paclite one it does not have the mesh lining (like a string vest) so not as warm. Still perfect if planning on wearing plenty underneath.

Another for the gg apex. Fits like a glove and you don't know your wearing it

I've just also got a Bates Thermal Jacket, it's so light and cosy and although it's not advertised as waterproof if it's anything like my WindStopper, it will be 😎 You can wear next to nothing underneath it in the cold, fantastic top 👍

Can't fault GG, don't rule out the adidas GoreTex range though. You could pick up last season's range for half the price of the GG.

Check out usual suspects like Golf Base, Function 18, Clubhouse etc

I wore it today with just a polo shirt underneath with a 08.15 tee time and got too warm towards the end of the round, so soft and free to move in.

Chris, just an FYI, they come up a little snug around the middle. Usually medium, but I needed a large jacket in GG

Chris, I usually buy small or medium small but have had to buy XXL in GG... serious issues with their sizing!
