Frustrated

Despite my early season form being good I am getting totally frustrated when playing medals.
I seem to have a good round bad round thing going on with no consistancy what so ever.

In the Club championship qualifier on saturday I was only 3 over for first 9, then proceeded to blow up on the back nine after a silly double bogey on 10th, I tried the 1 in a million shot that never come's off, lob wedge over a tree, instead of aiming for the fat part of the green, I went for the pin and got my ball stuck up said tree. After that my round just fell apart.

Today in a single's matchplay tie I was 2 over after 9 and had it all wrapped up on 12 and I was giving him 6 shots, we finished off the round and I had a scratch 77.

Why can't I keep it going for the full 18 in a medal?

I'm sure there are plenty of us who want to know the answer to that one!

It happens to us all. I was 2 under gross on the front 9 in a medal 2 weeks ago and promplty made an 11 on the 10th hole and followed that with a 7 on the 11th hole both of which are par 4's!
Then this Saturday I shot a 71 but signed for a 70 as I didn't check my card so I was disqualified which is fair enough but still very annoying

I feel for you.

My problem is the first three holes of a medal. The 1st at my club is the SI 18. Normally I par this hole every time, even an occasional birdie. However, every medal I play in I get a 6 !!! aaaarrrggh. Of course it's nerves, I just dont settle down until after the third, by which time yesterday I was 5 over par !!! It's so frustrating as I finished with a net 70 which is the CSS.

think its the same 4 every1 was 8 over, on our 15th par 4 si 1 took a 5 wood for safety took 9 lol still managed to shoot 86 net 68, still only managed 3rd in our monthly medal, some bandit shot 63 playing off 23
