for along time now my driving has been deverstating my game. i've had lessons and within minutes i'm hitting nice draws. after my lessons i stay at the range and practice and couldn't hit them better.

BUT, when i get on the course its like i've forgot everything and i'm back to square one. i then go back the range and within 4 balls i'm hitting them sweet again.
ROUND AND ROUND I GO.

Any advice anyone pleeeeeeeease. i've tried relaxing and having no swing thought but i doesnt help so its defenatly not over thinking

You say on the range you're hitting a draw. What's your bad shot on the course?

Hovis I think Gareth is spot on and it would help if you let the guys know what 'the bad shot' is.
I think the best methodology for you is ensure you have the same pre shot routine every time. Practice the first drive in the nets, get your tempo going, get your confidence up and crack on.
good luck...

I had this recently, consistent on the range but not on the course. I developed a special driver routine and suddenly it clicked! I found my fault was on the range I set up my grip then moved the ball to the front foot giving a nice draw, on the course I set up my grip after putting the ball on the front foot, giving a fade!

I hope someone comes up with an answer soon as your problem is identical to mine. Played last night thinking everything would be great as on the range it was getting near perfect, first shot sliced it out of bounds so I know I'm doing something different but don't know what it is.

a huge slice or straight pull

My thought would be you're trying to hit the ball too hard on the course and are pulling yourself off plane but I'm sure more experianced members will correct me :D

Either that or you're not lining up correctly with your target. Do your range mats have alignment marks on them?

Sounds like a classic 'coming over the top'; meaning you either hit it straight out left or the curly wurly. Loads of different tips that suit different players
-try and feel your pulling down with your left hand more
-take away facing the ball longer (i.e. not rolling wrists)
-at the top slow it down so your hands 'drop' and you hit it less over the top
-set your club at the ball then align your feet
-get your confidence back with the 3 wood for a round.....
(always easier when its not you!!!!)

One of the problems I sorted between range and course was tee height, my range has the automatic tees and for driver was the longest setting, on the course I was teeing it a bit lower! Bought some castle tees and it helped loads! Still a work in progress but the dispersion is getting smaller!
