Anyone know which website is best if seven us just want to have a poker tournament between ourselves? I tried Pokerstars but there was a problem with their sign-up procedure so I couldn't get in and they haven't got back to me. I tried Zynga but I can't see how to create a private game.

With Pokerstars they asked me to put in my home address, which I did, and it then said my address couldn't be verified. So that was that, computer says no.

You should be able to manually verify your account by providing documentary evidence of your ID. Does it not give you the option to upload your documents?

That's a bit much isn't it?

were you on the pokerstars uk client?
Yeah I'm pretty sure. That Bluff Avenue link you sent looks the part though, cheers. Looks nice and basic which is ideal really.

Legal requirement for UK licence operators to verify your age/identity before you gamble on the site since May 2019. They do that either via electronic verification or documentary evidence. You must have failed the electronic ID check.

We used Pokerstars, via Homegames the other night, alongside Zoom. We usually take turns to host, but this worked well and was very intuitive. We played for pots, so one buy in per round for x chips, winner takes all with cash bonuses for knocking someone out. There was 11 of us so we had two tables, reducing to one when 2 had been eliminated. One of my mates initially had issues with registering and turned out he was trying on the USA platform.

We use Pokerrr2 which is a free app, although you use 'gold' to pay for a private game. If the organiser sends out a referral code to the others you'll have enough gold for loads of games.

Best on an ipad but fine with phone. Pretty good UI with how you look at cards, fold etc

Set that up alongside zoom and you're good to go

I really like playing poker. It so relaxes me. My friends and I have a tradition - every Friday we play poker. It used to be in a real casino, 2 times it was even in Las Vegas, and during quarantine they started playing online in lottery syndicate. I like the fact that we have kept our tradition. But an online game does not replace that atmosphere when several friends gather at the same table, chat, drink whiskey, and play. The fact that there are poker applications is cool, but do not forget about real meetings with friends.

Does anyone know why Homegames on Pokerstars only appears to be an option on laptops? Is there a workaround?

Me and my mates have been using it to facilitate weekly games since lockdown began. It works brilliantly alongside Zoom and is something we’ll keep going as a convenient way to have a get together. However, those without laptops, using iPads/tablets Or phones don’t appear to get the Homegames option, which is a bit weird.

No, only works on PC/Laptop I’m afraid for home games.

We’ve been playing poker online during the lockdown and it’s been great.....when it has worked!!

PokerStars have been absolutely pathetic through most of this. We’ve had accounts randomly frozen despite being a regular player for years. There is zero support so that player cannot get their account back up and running.

If you are unfortunate enough to be asked for documents to verify your ID or address then expect to wait 2-3 weeks before it is sorted out.

Have a look at 888Poker, they do home games. You will probably still have to provide info but by all accounts they are much better at sorting it out.

I'd avoid Pokerstars, especially with any personal information. They've had a lot of accounts stolen by russians in the recent past.

Their idea of support is to do as little as possible if anything at all.

Yeah they got back to me about 3 weeks after I posted this thread. Bit late then.

We ended up using a different website that my mate had, which was called www.pokernow.club I believe. Dunno where he found it from but it worked alright.

We use pokerrr

Someone collects the 5ers on paypal. We throw in extra every now and again to buy coins needed to run our tables.

We have 3 WhatsApp groups that play and merge to play a quick game most nights. .

3000 chips, 8 min blinds . Over pretty quickly.
