fragger and al other computer people!!!

my laptop is really winding me up now! ive hit once so far dont want to do it again lol...

The screen keeps turning off/going into power save mode and making it impossibe to use! im about 10seconds away from spilling coke all over it and ringing insurance lol

it only started doing it two days ago so i turned it off and forgot and its doing it again and really winding me up now lol its happening constantly time after time... soon as i waggle mouse touch a key etc screen is back on then it will happen again from anything from 10 seconds to a minute not even a consitant time!

any ideas???

Are you running on battery or power, if battery, take it out and see if it is better with just power

I tried running power and also jus battery and had the same problem

Ok , I suspect that there is a problem with either the charger, or the socket the charger connects into( is it a bit wobbley)

I think that it isn't charging properly, and the battery is so low on power that it shuts off after a few seconds

This would account for the safe mode restarts

How old is the machine?

2 years old now... Battery was on 100%
It doesn't go into safe mode or restart its literally the screen turns off

Check your settings... Mac or Windows PC?

I suspect windows, I use a mac so off the top of my head... control panel, Performance maintenance, power options... check those out anything look like it could be the problem?

Yeah worth checking what the power save options are, could be set to just 10 minutes and hibernate. Would be able to use windows search to find it or control panel, power options (if your using small icons and not the crazy category view)

No it sounds like its turning off before you even get a chance to hit the control panel

Id take it to a local PC shop to look at the power coupling,coz I reckon thats the problem

I get the impression it occurs on idle when he's doing nowt so should get there... but I could be wrong
