I don't ever consider which pro uses a brand before I buy new clubs. Never have as it isn't relevant. I have got Callaway irons for example and I know Phil Mickleson uses their products but I could not name another pro that does. I don't care either!

Strangely, I see this as a benefit for Titleist to some extent. Fowler is known for what he wears and that is all Puma. Most people, I suspect, had no idea that he played Titleist and with the focus being on his Puma outfits, few people are going to work it out. If it is not obvious to the punter that he is playing Titleist, what is the point in paying him the promotional fees.

I'm another who won't buy into a brand because player X uses them. I try and find what is best for my game which given its state is a hard job. I thought Cobra were bought by Puma or vice versa and so it is a perfect match to make Ricky their shining light especially in the US. As for Titleist, they seem pretty happy with their own position in the market, especially towards us club golfers and aim for the mid-low handicaps as their target audience and I'm not sure having a "face" for their brand will really make any impact onto that

was interesting to see in another mag that Baddelly uses predominantly Adams and a v old scotty!!

Titleist simply don't pay their players as much as the others do, because they don't need to, hence why lots of players leave them when they start doing well and the bigger offers come in....

I have just realised that I was mistaken in saying that pros don't influence my buying choices. I would never buy anything made by Nike as a direct result of their association with Tiger Woods.

Not really a fan of any of their gear. Use Nike balls if I find them but only ever owned a pair of trousers due to Nike outlets when in Orlando. I am a big Mickelson fan and have owned many Callaway products but the only one I tried because of him was the putter no.9. Saw him use it and liked the shape.
