Forum crashing browser - IE8

I'm unable to view the forum from a PC running IE 8. Every time I attempt to go to the main forum or view a thread, the browser crashes. I've no issue with Safari on either iPhone or MacBook. The problem appeared to coincide with the background change from the orange Cobra background to the current one.

Upgrading or changing the browser on the PC is not an option. Any ideas of the cause or a solution?

I've had this happen a few times recently but no idea why.

I can only suggest clearing caches etc in ie8, Im on Chrome and it works grand.

Blow me it just did it again when I tried to return to latest posts.

Worked all right for my second reply. Have had thirteen updates half an hour ago so can expect things to go belly up!

Was a bit iffy about an hour ago but back quickly and ok since

Check the warp core, the dylithium crystals could be mis-aligned.

My money would be on adobe flash plugin crashing your browser.

After 10yrs staying faithful to Internet Explorer I've swapped to Safari - pages kept hanging with ie9

Might even give Chrome a go just to see what all the fuss is about.

Cleared the cache etc. but still unable to get to the forum. The main site is ok.

Is it a work machine?

I have Chrome on my home 'puters and work PC, as well as IE. It's cause I find IE less stable.

Only at work where it's mandated

Problem seems to have gone away. This is my second day of being able to access the forum without issues.

Since moving to Chrome I don't get any issues at all that I experienced with IE.

Chrome = Stress Free at home and at work.
