I vaguely remember there are a few gamers in the ranks, I've been told the demo of TW11 is about to be released.

Personally I am stil happy with last years version of the game on the few occassions I play it.

Not sure what is new this year apart from the Ryder Cup being included.

i had 2007 which was good, and upgraded to 2009 which was no much betterm and actually had less control options of the swing on the PS2 - seriously disappointed; also pretty rubbish other competition formats in 2009 other than the Tour

I guess 2011 wont be out on PS2, so i'm unlikely to get this one :(

i only ever play online, just find the game easy against the console....silly scores like 60 under par for the tournament make it tedious, mind u im not brave enough to try it on tour difficulty, lol!

I'm same, usually play on Pro difficulty and 62 is a high round!!!

Done a few on the hardest level, getting to the green is the same, just the putting that gets a lot, lot harder.

I was being a tight git so bought Tiger Woods 2009 because it was £20 cheaper.

I wasn't sure what they would upgrade on it so have witheld from buying any of the newer ones.

Are they worth upgrading to?

Cheers

I upgrade my version every year, it is the ony game that I keep for a whole year and play on and off for the whole time so seems like a good investment to me.

Just waiting for the demo to be available to Silver Xbox Live members

I like a bit of gaming, but haven't played a really decent Golf game since "Leaderboard" on the Commodore Amiga. (Well, Links was okay, but the on-line part never worked, which was a shame. Now I just stick with First Person Shooters!)

I had TW09 and now play TW10, both on the Xbox360. They're both great, but there are a few differences.

The big difference in gameplay is in TW10 they introduced a "realistic" swing mechanism. Rather than the three-tap system that's been with us since Links (tap to start the swing, tap to set power/draw/fade and tap again to determine accuracy/hook/slice) you now use the left thumbstick: pull back and push forward, and the timing and path the stick movement takes determines what the hit and flight will be like.

You can always click the left thumbstick to go back to the previous/old swing method if you like, but I find the new system to be quite good. I do sometimes go back to the old style for precision putting, though.

Also, TW09 had a real golf news ticker & radio, but it's not in TW10; though TW10 has more online/interactive stuff. There may be other differences, but I didn't stay on TW09 long as a mate bought TW10 and I wanted to play online against him. :D

Can't speak for TW11 as this thread is the first I've heard of it.

BTW, any TW10 players who want to link up on Xbox Live, add me: Jumile :)

This looks to be the dogs!. TW 10 on the WII with motion plus is great fun but I’ve stopped playing it because I’m convinced it’s been to blame for my terrible swing path generated slice. The game tends to read an in to out as a slice unless the clubface is 100% square so I over compensate going out to in.

Looks like TW11 will give real feed back in either Advance or Tour mode therefore whilst no doubt my scores will plummet in the virtual world it should help rather than hinder in the real one.

:D

I have TW10 on the 360 and it is a good game. Not sure I'll be buying TW11 though. If I didn't have xbox live, I would probably play TW all the time, but with the option of playing online - there are just better games to play. Fifa10 for example :D

As an aside, I never understand how many people are into COD/Battlefield. It's sooooo blooming hard! I dl'ed the demo the other day and got destroyed.

No, PC (laptop) gaming here, and only Unreal Tournament '99...there is no substitute.

Must admit I was pretty dissapointed in 10, hardly any difference than 9 really. Felt like id paid £30 quid for a small expansion pack.

I think in terms of realism, what can be done on todays consoles, this is lagging.

I think they need to sharpen up the graphics, the ball striking images, the divots being taken etc. I know there all small things but I want a simulater, not an arcade game.

I think the market is open for someone else to swoop in and take crown away from EA, and I think its not too far away!

Will have to be special for me to buy 11

Just played the demo, it's nothing amazing. Gusts of wind can now push your ball off line but other than that it plays just like 10.

All I want from a TW game is a course designer mode. Can you imagine...you've got a society match at a course you haven't played before, jump on TW, download the course and get practicing!

It would help my course management ;) x

coolhand: I've always been a bit leery of the Wii in terms of 'practice,' as it never comes close. Proof is in the Wii Sports pack where -- when you first get it -- you're playing tennis and bowling like you're supposed to, then your 7 year old nephew jumps on and works out in 3 minutes that he can sit on the sofa and waggle the wiimote in a certain way to get the same effect.

Besides, I'd rather not risk breaking my swing: it's fragile and broken enough as it is. ;)

sneds: As an FPS die-hard, I can say that it comes down to practice. :) I've been playing Battlefield 2 since it came out, along with all subsequent games in the series (I should have shares in DICE!), and have even found that mixing games can cause problems. I play BF2, America's Army and Battlefield Bad Company 2 on my PC, and both Modern Warfare 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction on the XB360, and find that once I've spent a couple of hours on one, I pretty much have to rewire my brain to play one of the others. Rinse and repeat.

If all else fails, jump onto the freebie web-based Battlefield Heroes and enjoy yourself. :D

Just been playing battlefield heros for the past half an hour and only just found out how to change weapons
