Can anyone explain to me why there is Rule 3?
I cant think of a reason why you cant advertise something on here and E bay as long as it's just your own personal stuff you're selling.

I agree with you bob.
Long-time forum members ought to be able to put up a link to sales/auction sites if they like....i.m.h.o.
Logic? well, let's say you've stuck it on ebay and *hope* to get "x" amount. If someone on here would really like the item and is ready and willing to part with "x" amount or thereabouts.....everyone's a winner.

I do however agree with the principle of moderators being able to remove (or ask to remove) links.

I guess it is because a load of guys (M*** included) have ebay businesses as well, and it makes for a very blurred line.

particularly when one or two were using the one to jack up the price on the other, or at least it appeared that way to me.
