I had the idea about 20 years ago to build a golf course in the Maldives. To buy up 19 islands, put a small hotel on to one, and then one hole per island on each of the others, with small boats to ferry between islands. Obviously never amounted to anything as I had no idea how to go about fincning it and I never won the lottery. Still a good idea in my book though.
Should add that would probably require a lot of investigation and a feasability study with regards to ensuring that it doesn't wreck the local environment, or that it would be financially viable as a project...

Now, if you were to invent the floating golf ball, that would be useful to a few on here 
Incedently, The Maldives has a golf course already.
Its only 6 holes and the entire course measures 330 yds long.
The 19th......or should that be the 7th...
looks like a fun place to be of an evening.

Bob, floaters already exist as range balls in Fl.
Once the Maldives have sunk, why would you want a floating golf course in the iddle of the ocean, miles from the nearest airport?
