First round with New Clubs

It was great to get out and have a round with my new MD BlackHawk Clubs, Driver and Putter. The Aylesford course at the Forest was in great nick considering the weather.
Have to say I ended up with my usual 100 plus, but apart from the two Hybrids, I hit some good shots with all the rest of the clubs. Definately need some work on how far I am hitting, especially at the high end irons and wedges. I hit two 8 irons way over the back of the green that I would usually end up short. The hybrids were hopless all day - I seemed to be topping the ball all of the time with them but hey, you can win em all first time.
AND I par'd one of my bogey holes - the par three tenth over the pond

Glad to hear the new kit is going well.
Topping hybrids or fairways is easy done, maybe swinging too fast, a nice slow smooth takeaway is needed.
Not sure why you'd be hitting short irons long, might be stronger lofts or longer shafts than your last set?

I picked up a new hybrid at Christmas and has taken me a while to get used to it.

Saturday at the range was the first time I really had any confidence in it.

Perservere and it will be worth it.

I'm looking forward to my next round as it will be my first one with a decent 3 & 5 wood in the bag. the longer par 4s should now be in range.

I had an MD Blackhawk hybrid and could not get on with it. I now have Cobra DWS 3 and 5 senior hybrids which do the business for me.

I think if you can you would benefit from going to a practice ground and pacing or using a gps device to measure how far you hit each club. Clearly they are going further than your old sticks and it would make clubbing a lot more certain and give you confidence that you have the right bat in your hand.

thanks guys. more practice is the key thing i guess. It is prob Graphite thats the biggest new thing with all the clubs. Was nice to outdrive eceryone else when the driver went right
