First round of 2017...

Played my first round of 2017 at a mates course at Airdrie, winter tees and greens on most parts of the course... 1st hole, 200'ish yards. Hit a peach of a draw with my 20-deg hybrid and didn't think I'd be far away from the green.

Couldn't see it lying out as we approached the green, so checked the hole.. and there it was!



Took me a few holes to recover from the shock, but knocked it round the shortened course in 79 blows so quite happy.

Hole in one on a 200 yard hole, first shot of the new year...doesnt get much better than that I'd say.

First Round was yesterday, 3 birdies 7 bogeys and the rest pars! Annoying bogeys too. Missed greens on simple holes. I find that I can switch on for the harder holes - then lapses in concentration let me down on the easier holes!

An extremely average 32 points so 81 gross.....
Thinking back I can see 5-6 totally wasted shots - poor putts and chips, easy up and downs that turned into 3 shots....

Hate those rounds - Crazy how quickly a Birdie/Par turns into a bogey or worse -
