Finally, after two second places, two third places and a forth place (all this year) I won my first competition at the weekend. It was in a Greensome comp with me (26h/c) teaming up with a new member (December) who plays off 12. We racked up 42 points to win by 4 points from the two guys who actually played with us.
We decided that I would drive first, and if I made a good shot, he could really ‘’go for it’’ well we used 10 of my drives to my partners 8. Both our irons and chipping game was very good with me hitting the flag once and my partner holing out from just off the green. Our putting was also very good and we only took 30 putts.
I have played with this guy once before when we finished third, but we really do get on well together with both of us taking the Mickey out of each other from virtually the first hole we played together. As Humphrey Bogart once said ‘’ I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship’’
The next step is obviously to win a competition on my own, and next Sunday I get my chance in our March Medal, I can’t wait!!
