One of the last comps of the year yesterday, and having recently been cut to an all time low of 10.9 I was desperate to make buffer at least. Started with a double, and missed a very short putt on the second, but after that it was just like I knew exactly where the ball was going. 5 over at the turn, and still 5 over after 17. I knew I was looking at another handicap cut, and nailed my wedge from 120 on 18 about 20 yards through the back from being so focussed. So I finished with another double for a 7 over, and hoping to get down to 10.1 if CSS complies.

All of a sudden single figures in 2012 is starting to look possible!

Nice one CH....sounds almost identical to my round today in the Winter League stableford.......started double, then bogie to be 3 over after 2........then was still 3 over after 11.....another poxy double on 13, but was still 3 under my H/C after 16. A silly bogie at the short par 3 17th, then a par finish left me with a 7 over, which was good enough for either 38 points or 37 points depending on what my handicap was.... ...........long story but I entered the weekly medal on Wednesday.....turned out I was the only one playing in it (didnt realise my mates hadn't swiped in until we got to the 1st tee). unusually for me I NR'd after a few holes, ( put 2 balls OOB on the same hole and just CNBA to put another one down).

Was fully expecting a 0.1 back which would have put me up to 8.5 (9) and 38 today, but the PC worked it out as a reductions only and therefore it looks like I actually stayed at 8.4 (8) and therefore only 37........very unusual scenario. Our rules guru is looking at it to make sure the PC worked it out right.

Rick,

If you played off 9 & signed your card thinking that you went up during the week but in fact as it was RO then are you not facing a DQ for claiming a higher Hc ??????

Nope....didn't sign my card until I had checked with the rules guru what my handicap should be. They advised that because the psi was saying it was 8.4 then thats what to put on the card which I did....so I signed for a 37. In any case, all I had to do was write my gross scores which wasn't affected by handicap.

They then said they would make any adjustments if necessary based on their findings. I imagine this won't be for a couple of days.
