I've been to practice 3 times this week and can't find my normal swing at all.
Has anyone got any tried and tested methods to get the feel back? I normally get it back by the end of the first practice; I'm getting worried now. :D

Don't worry Dave. I had been hitting the ball pretty well with the new adress position and swing and went to the range yesterday and the club felt totally alien in my hand. It was a bit better on the course today but a real hotchpotch of good, bad and one real ugly drive. We won't even go there with the short game despite a midweek lesson and so I think a bucket of balls call tomorrow

just do everything slowly to start with, find some tempo and rhythm and then gradually amp it up from there.

Yes, I think that sounds very sensible. I probably need to swing at half speed and do some checks.

The best way to find the swing after break is not practice but just to go out and play. Then everything comes naturally and during your first round you'll find you play far better than you thought you would! It's only when you think about how to play and what you're doing match when the game becomes difficult.

I shanked one today, that's it! back to the drawing board. Got to bed in an entirely new swing over night, change 50 things and introduce another 200 swing thoughts, and at the end of it my swing won't have changed one little bit.... might even hit a bucket or two just to have it doubly bedded

Tomorrow's plan is to do about half an hour of exercises before going to practice.
I'm working on a plan right now, probably lots of turning and base checking using the patio door as a mirror.

Yeh, 50 balls at the range and I should have a totally new swing. If not I can always change it again and hit a further 50 balls to bed in my new, new ,newer swing.

Dave I was in the same boat last week, after playing once a month I have got the bug back and the time to play and worried when I couldn't hit a ball.

First thing I concentrated on was tempo. Once that was back I could think about my swing thoughts one at a time.

Its a gradual process coming back and expecting small improvements each time is as good as I can hope for.

I'm getting there, but it's painful.

Did LOTS of warming up exercises today (mostly with my speed stick, but not swings (so to speak), just turning, stretching, "twisting" of the torso, etc. etc.

Hit some nice shots today, more pushed then pulled (good) and some pure short irons for the first time since picking the clubs up again.

:)
