Finally, I'm an official golf club member.

Went down to my local this morning and had 18 holes on the par 3 course they have there.

It was pretty terrible. The course was VERY wet under foot in most places and I barely hit a good shot all day. The one good shot I did hit on the last was dismissed when I saw the divot showing an out to in swing path

But after the round, I went into the proshop/clubhouse, filled in my membership form, gave them my cheque for £422.65 and am now officially a member of a golf club again.

The captain will be giving me a call in due course to instruct me on how to get my handicap and about playing in comps.

I'm excited.

Roll on spring/summer.

Congratulations on finally taking the plunge. Our place is very wet underfoot too highlighting any striking shortcomings you may have. Doesn`t help when you are not as sure footed as you could be either.

Fingers crossed you find some new mates to play with soon, the drier weather comes and all our golf improves

Remember with divots, if you've hit the ball first the divots may point a little left, this doesn't always mean you've gone out to in.
