One Battle After Another. Absolute tosh .

I should have stuck to my guns and done my usual of avoiding Oscar films

That comment made me do a quick skim through Oscar winning films and surprised myself with just how many I have watched (only 7 of the this centuries not watched).

Some I know I would not watch as they are simply not the genre of film I would watch anyway.

Shelter - Latest Jason Statham film, lots of action, killings, fights, etc etc,

Pretty similar to lots of his previous films, detach brain for 1hr 45mins and enjoy.

Absolutely agree with this precis.

Watched a couple of films on a long flight yesterday.

F1. Brad Pitt as a washed up racing driver who makes a comeback in F1 after 30 years. Enjoyable enough but every single race features Pitt doing stuff which so ludicrous it would never happen in real life.

Back to Black. Amy Winehouse biopic. The girl who plays Amy is really good. However it grated a bit the way her dad was portrayed as a total good guy. From what I remember at the time, that wasn’t really the case, he kept pushing her to do stuff when she was at her lowest ebb, and that didn’t help her at all.
