Thinking back to some of the great film scores, some are still as recognisable today as they were 10/12/30 years ago.
Has that changed ?
For instance, can you sing the theme music for any of the modern films like Harry Potter ?
I'll bet most of you can still hum the tunes from the Bond films, Star wars/Trek and Raiders etc.

So what's your favourite film music from the more recent years?

I would have to say, and these are pretty much based on musical genre, the sound track compilation to the football hooliganism film 'Away Days' is superb.

As a huge Joy Division fan I found the Soundtrack to the biopic 'Control' was superb. The track 'Atmosphere' for the closing credits fitted perfectly.

Gladiator
Braveheart
Titanic
All good scores..

Harry Snotter music- Hedwigs song the most famous no doubt

Cant beat.....
The great escape
Battle of Britain
The damn Busters
633 Squadron
Where eagles dare

/I think I see a pattern

The Big Country. Love it. Watched it on telly this afternoon and that intro always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. A great western score. Have I mentioned I love a good western? Especially John Wayne films. I loved John Wayne.

I'm a massive fan of film scores and have stacks on my iPod. Cannot get enough of Hans Zimmer's work - Gladiator, The Dark Knight, The Rock and Inception to name a few of my favourites. Lord of the Rings is also epic. Captures the atmosphere perfectly in my eyes (or should that be ears)!
