Fife - Non-Links tracks

Yes and he has done nothing for the club. There appears to be no plan other than let the seniors take over.
Scotcraig is a great course and £408 is a great price but it's 45-50 minutes each way still so probably look at Pitreavie first and then Pitfirrane after.

Think he's angling for the Secretarys job at Scotscraig soon , he plays on a tuesday with all the council members who are you guessed all retired.

I'm surprised no-one has suggested Balbirnie?
Mind you, I've only played it once and that was in July but I enjoyed it. A nice change from flat Lincolnshire

good shout a very good course with some cracking holes on it and the last is a great finish.

My cousin and his lad are members there. You must tell me what it's like so I can cadge a knock.

Its a decent enough course. Not spectacular but probably the best in the Dunfermline area IMO. Gets a bit soggy in winter. Rest of my family are members there.

It is good there, is there not a waiting list though ?

Not being biased but Canmore is an excellent friendly club with great greens

There is a waiting list but I have contacts. Canmore is just a bit samey for me and lacks a Par 5. Some good holes (12 and 18 stand out for me) but too many just criss cross back and forth and even though I have played it probably 40 or 50 times through the years I still get confused by some holes, as in which is which, because they feel the same.
You are right though, the club is friendly and the greens never disappoint.

played here a couple of years ago in our September jolly and quite enjoyed it, wet in places as i remember had a burn right though the middle.

doing a deal according to the website for new members @ £420

Alyth have taken over the back 9 of the recently closed Glenisla giving them 7 holes now , its a trial for a year to see how it goes.

What about Aberdour as an option, Greig? Seems a lovely club, course is a little weak on the back 9 but a well run club from my experiences as a visitor through acquaintances there. I'd happily join if that were my local option.

is that an extra 7 holes Steve? played there on the same trip and it had some really nice holes on it particularly down over those two ponds. why did it close though it was OK ?

Was a member there Jim, not a nice club in the experiences me and my mate had at the hands of the "locals". Were made to feel that if you weren't from there you didn't fit in. It was why both of us left in the end.

Fair enough, a shame. I guess you're pretty stuck then. :(
