Favourite LP????

Led Zep were probably just about my favourite band and Physical Graffiti their best album IMO.

Another great album is Hawkwind's "Space Ritual" but that's a bit of an acquired taste. :)

liverbirdie - yes it's eric's town:smirk:
Paul Dianno was not as good as bruce but better than blaze.
FD - got Choose your masques and levitation - good stuff.

I suppose it's which vocalist your used to first, I only got into them around 1988 and Bruce was the guy then, the only person who has a similar range in voice to Freddie Mercury.

Not really the vocalist just the less overblown songs. They really disappeared up their own arses from Powerslave (which was pretty good but I was young - it bores me now!) onwards. SIT was an awful album, likewise SSOASS.

My votes would go to:

Neil Young: On The Beach
Grandaddy: The Sophtware Slump
Masters Of Reality: Sunrise On The Sufferbus
Neutral Milk Hotel: In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Half Man Half Biscuit: CSI Ambleside
Monster Magnet: Powertrip
Kyuss: Welcome To Sky Valley
Boards Of Canada: Music Has The Right To Children
Mark Lanegan: Blues Funeral
Green Day: Dookie
Flaming Lips: The Soft Bulletin
Twilight Singers: Dynamite Steps
The Ultimate Very Very Very Best Of Michael Buble (Part 3)

"Wrathchild" is a fantastic track - currently on my playlist for the gym. Don't think they ever topped it.

Oh I dunno - Charlotte the Harlot was always a crowd pleaser......
**-ducks and runs-**

The track Iron Maiden has always been a corker...but I prefered Brucie to Dick'anno. I think I've got a load of Picture Discs of Maiden singles in the loft along with a picture disk LP of "Beast"

My faves tend to be live albums - Rush (All the World's a Stage and Exit Stage Left), Lizzy (Live and Dangerous), Motorhead (No sleep till Hammersmith)

London 0 Hull 4

Throwing that one out there as it was the first album I bought.

Love it.

Space ritual is an awesome album. Got it on vinyl, may need to revisit amazon to get a cd copy for the car.

The Jam, direction reaction, creation is very good, but then it does have every thing they ever recorded on it.

Best of crowded house is good too.

And if we're talking floyd, then welcome to the machine, just about shades it.

Each to their own LB. Ozzy was great but not for very long. Heaven & Hell was also vg with the late RJ Dio.

My first Maiden album was SSOASS, so loved it to death, also entry level into Heavier rock for me. I can see if older Maiden fans seen it as a bit of a sell out, but not for me.

I've only listened to some Sabbath, so no expert. Heaven and hell, amongst them, but Eternal Idol with Tony Martin is one of my top ten albums ever. Fantastic stuff, if you haven't tried it give it a go. If your an Ossie fan, ignore it saying Black Sabbath on the front and just listen for what it is, a truly great album.

Neon knights on H & H is a great track.
