Just wondered what grips people prefer. Can't see any recent threads on this.

Best I've used so far are New Decade which I have in my woods and they are awesome. I have Tour Velvets in my irons, they feel great new but I find they lose their grip quite quickly.

I have tried DD2's on a practice club to see what they were like. Although they look great they don't seem anywhere near grippy enough (don't think they'd do the business in the rain). So I've just put a couple of Golf Pride V-55 grips on these (bargain off e-bay) to see what they're like. They feel nice and have the old school "Grip Rite Swing Rite" guide which I thought would be good for checking my grip position.

I have a vokey wedge with a Lamkin cross line and that feels nice.

What do other people like?

Got the New Decade's on my irons. Ordinary Tour Velevts on everything else. Will probably have all New Decades as grips need changing.

I have 3 new Black Widow half cord behind me that look really nice, have not put them on yet, but I would like them on all my irons.

I have golf pride tour wrap's on my irons and they are excellent.

I have boring black golf pride grips. Midsize on my irons & fairway woods, standard with two layers of tape on the driver

Do different grips make a big difference to your game?

A difference. Maybe not a big one. It's your only contact with the club so I think the feel is important (e.g. never seemed to feel comfortable with a wrap grip, and full cord feels too harsh). Also I have small hands so I need something that feels nice and grippy. Not grippy enough and I'll tend to grip more tightly. Also there's the effect of rain, sweat etc which the grip needs to allow for. I think some are better at this than others.

+1 for the Golp pride multi compounds.

Tour velvets, V-55s etc become like a bar of soap for me after a couple of swings.

Everything has Tour Velvets on at the moment but that is because they were the standard grip. Really like Multi compounds and the clubs need new grips soon so may change to them.

Hi all...have'nt posted for a while, but read every every night[can't do without my fix!]
On the subject of grips,I went for a full set of really bright FUNKD grips thanks to a post by The Craw, bargain price, and 2 layers of tape.
They do feel nice and have a nice grip in light rain plus the do stand out colourwise, but hey ho what the hell!
Would recco them to anyone!
Got to go now as on way to club prize night to pick up 2 prizes[if only I can get the handicap down!!]

Jimbo  :p

Multi compound, have taken over top spot for me. I was a dyed in the wool Lamkin Crossline Full Cord fan for years and years, however the Multi-Compound have won me over!
