Just wondering whether or not anybody has suffered with tiredness mid round......
For the record im 38 in no way unhealthy...I was very fit up to 3 years ago playing ball before the injuries...

I take on plenty of fluid and snacks through the round.......But still i get tired in the last 1/3......
I trollied today as i normally carry just to rule out that possibility but still no change..So its not the carrying thats causing it......

The only other thing that may have a bearing on this and this is just something im pulling out of the sky is my Iron shafts......
They are TT DG S300's.....Im sure that most know they are at the heavier end of the scale as regards shafts..... I think they are 127grms
My Pro said that my swing is plenty quick enough to use them and to be honest they feel fine to me.....I dont find them overly heavy to swing..... Working with heavy stuff in work all day they would feel light to me anyway...

But whenever anyone asks me for a hit with my irons the first thing they say when they pull one from my bag is how heavy they feel....

Could an iron shaft really make you tired or am i just looking for an excuse
Is their a lighter iron shaft6 that would play similar to these....

Stop it !!!:o You get tired because your iron shafts are too heavy

you need to have a little word with yourself.

Maybe you aren't eating & drinking enough. According to the budding Gillian McKeiths on here you need about 10 pints of water and 3000 calories just to make it round without going into calorie deficient/dehydrated induced shock !!:D

Kid, look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself " am I tiered because my shafts are heavy"

If you don't p155 ya pants laughing like a sissy girl I'd be amazed

The Rod and Oddsocks summed it up nicely!

It can't be physical unless you have glandular fever or something so is most likely mental fatigue which you think is physical. Do you switch off between shots and give your brain a rest?!

Not sure Amanda....Im usually chatting away about stuff but iv always got an eye on the next shot if im honest.....
Maybe just a gammy nights sleep last night......

If you are physically fit there shouldn't be a reason why you can't get round 18 holes with ease especially if you do keep fluid levels up and perhaps nibble on some food. Definitely not the shafts

Im in pretty good shape Homer.....Im definitely not cuddly anyway ....
5' 10" and 13.5 stone.....So i would think healthy enough anyway.......

I did wake at 4 this morning and it felt like it was ages before i got back to sleep and was up for 7:45....So maybe it was that.

Probably not switching off enough between shots. I know it's tempting to look ahead and try to gauge where your ball is and the next shot but no point until you're able to stand over it and decide. Today I was playing with HID and started to chatter away (as I do - or as he says I do) and he said "I'm trying to concentrate on this". Well bearing in mind it was foursomes and I was next to play then for me that time should have been spent with a relaxing chit chat/thought/tune in his head rather than about the next shot or the one just gone.

This is of course something I can preach but am rubbish at practicing...unless I find someone or something that I really want to talk about!

Have you had your eyes tested??? I got mine tested as i saw car lights a tad blurry at night. I was advised to wear them driving watching tv and golfing. I used to get tired around 13 aswell and the strain on the eyes did drain me. Never thought it would be my eyesight that caused it because i genuinley didnt think it was that bad.can still see ball in distance etc. Glasses have just made it alot more clearer with less effort/strain.

No more tiredness. Unless im hungover or my sinuses are playing up hehe

I used to carry graphite shafts and I noticed the difference on my legs moving to r300s. I tried out the s300s but the weight bothered me and I swing a 7 at 92mph.

Eyesight is fine Bob....Well at least i think it is anyway....I see perfect..

A fitter who must not be mentioned on here told me exactly what Kid is saying.

The average amateur is not strong enough or fit enough to carry a full set with S300 shafts due to the weight. Also being so heavy if on a score you will struggle in the latter holes to put a good swing on a pressure shot.

Take from it what you like.

I normally only play about 12 holes, I get all round fed up after that. Zig zagging all over the place and raking round for my balls in the woods takes it out of you

I hadn't read this thread before now.

It's a good one though.

I played bonk golf yesterday. Woke up with a hangover, no time for brekky, no drink in the bag. Played 18 holes in a pairs comp, and the golf got better the further round I got. Carrying too. Got to the club house for lunch 17 hours from my last meal. It was hot yesterday too.
