When I lived in Spain it always amazed me that holiday makers buying these fake crap watches from lucky lucky men, it was either the watches or some dancing flower.

one of the more senior people here bought a Rolex. when it stopped working a week after he got back he sent it to Rolex with a letter of complaint! (why does British Industry suffer - 'cos we've got pratts like that in charge!)

A few years ago my then sales manager went to Tenerife on holiday and I asked him to bring me back a snide Rolex. He gave it to me when he got back and it really looked the business. Couldn't tell it from a new one.
Wore it a couple of days later to the golf club. Stood on the first tee, gave the ball an almighty smash and felt something go on my right wrist. Looked down and all that was left of the watch was the strap and case. The glass and all the innards had flown across the tee....

I got my Rolex for $5 in Bali a few years back. It worked a treat - the bloke I haggled with assured me it was absolutely genuine - but it went just a wee bit rusty! I loved it. Unfortunately, it went with a load of other stuff when we got burgled. I still haven't worked out who turned out most upset - me or the bloke who nicked it?
