Fastest finger first. Booking tee times

Why any member thinks it is ok to use any automation to help them get a time before other members is selfish and arrogant. That’s my opinion anyway.
What??? So.....somebody using a computer to log on for a tee time, when some old fella who doesn't use a computer (yes, they are out there) is selfish and arrogant? Are you against a new driver because you can hit it 20yds (possibly 50 miles) further? The world moves on....whether I like it or not.

I'm sure he meant "sneaky additional steps" beyond what everyone else is supposed to use!!🤣 Anyway, that's how I read it.

We've got lots of octogenarians using smart phones! 😉

How do you feel about the group where all 4 people try and grab a time slot, block 4 tee times then message each other and cancel 3 of the bookings 5-10 mins later?

What about the guys that organise themselves to have 4 all go for a tee time ?

Or those that have faster internet or faster PCs etc
Will be honest and it's really hacked me off this year . When we've had annual leave and been unable to book a time anywhere near what we would like as members are able to do this and also book guests in weeks in advance to get the slot they want and then cancelling the guests on the day. Club know about it and do nothing. Another reason we are leaving.

People booking before the tee sheet opens?

If someone wants to book in a guest they now have to pay within 30 mins or the tee time is deleted

If they pay and then don’t turn up they need to request a refund

We always check regularly those that are constantly cancelling last minute

No , we can book guests in weeks in advance and don't pay until the day.

I don't really get it. I'm more than happy as a retired git to play at 10 or 11....but people just won't give up their prime time tee times.
Like you, 10 or 11 is prime time enough for me

I'm retired....I dont want to be getting up at 6 to play golf at 7.30...I've done getting up early...did it for 40 years for work.

There's a clear difference between what you are suggesting and what @KenL is objecting to. If you can't see that..........🤷
Not sure it’s that clear.

You probably have autofill on your phone or browser? Knows to fill in your name or address into the appropriate boxes on internet forms to save time?

Use that on BRS or IG and you’re using a script to input data more rapidly - the behaviour that Ken finds so reprehensible. Shame on you! Scum! 😆😉

Seems like a case of sour grapes really. If the people that object were silently quicker than less technologically savvy competitors who struggled to book a time because it takes them several minutes to fill in a simple internet form - maybe because their name doesn’t autofill - and so shut these less capable competitors out of their preferred tee times entirely - I’m sure they wouldn’t think they were doing anything wrong. Talk me through the difference?

Yeah, that’s an issue a club definitely should sort out. If they won’t then leaving seems reasonable.

Auto fill doesn't fill in BRS, that doesn't make you faster. The query is whether it's unfair to use a bit of tech that is only available to a small few to effectively cheat the system or have everyone on a level playing field.

On our system once you've tapped a slot you get 2-3 minutes to enter names. Just names, nothing more. No skills needed there, no one excluded.

The tech is available to anyone

There are even companies that can do it for you
