After yet another soaking and freezing temperatures I've decided that winter golf is no longer for me. I absolutely loath being cold and I suffer horrendously with circulation in my hands hence I now have severe pain in my left fingers as I type. I hate it I hate it I hate it! It makes me even more bad tempered and moany!

I will never play winter golf in the rain again from the off. I don't mind if I'm caught out on the course but I won't go out and get frozen from the off any more. My hands, chest and shoulders just don't like the cold.

Strangely though I came home and went out on the bike for 30 miles and came back in buzzing, blood pumping, warm apart from my toes and with a smile. Guess from now on in weather like today I'll be hitting the saddle not the course as winter golf does nothing for this bear.

Roll on some heat.

I'd rather go for a run than cycle, but similar to craw, I'm fed up with this winter, it just goes on and on. I love cycling, but running gets me more bang in a shorter time. 3 hours on a bike or 1 hour running? Give me a run every time. Til the sun shines any way.

I agree, fair weather golf here too, I don't mind the cold at all but hate the wet. If it starts to rain once I'm out then fair enough but there is nothing more depressing than standing on the first tee with it lashing down.

I play golf for enjoyment, I'm never going to make a living out of it, therefore, if it's hammering down with rain, I'll pick a job off the 'to-do' list, that way I've got a golf token for when the suns out! If it rains when I'm out there, I'll suck it up.

Must have been real lucky, got a nice window of weather at dunbar this afternoon. Course in amazing condition, off the whites, no mats to be seen and 18 full greens.

Played Dunbar last week in a monsoon and hurricane and thought the course was magnificent. Really enjoyed it apart from the hypothermia. Greens were awesome for March. Twice the speed of the greens today which were true but slow.
