I wear contacts to play. Most of the time they are great. I always keep a couple of spare pairs in my bag just in case.

When its been really windy, I have had contacts blown out my eyes, which is a bit of a pain. Putting them in in a gale force isn't a piece of cake either!

Other than that I recommend them, putting them in, and removing them in normal conditions becomes second anture very quickly. As well as the advantage of no fogging, I also like the way I can have full peripheral vision without frames blobking the view, or blurry sections.

I wear one contact lense. All I need, gives me the best eyesight money can buy. I don't trust laser surgery, it hasn't been around long enough. When it has been done on people who then go 50 years with it, fine, but right now it is a gamble I am unwilling to take.

I tend to agree, my missus went for 3 assessments and was advised by one that it shouldnt be done as her lenses were not good enough and there were in any case nmany risks, the other two wanted her to do it. Guess which were private lazer eye treatment specialists and which were NHS expert????

You can get guarantees with contact lenses and spectacles, you cant with lazer eye treatment. Lazer eye treatment is perminent, in all outcomes, but one, there is no guarantee that your eyes wont get worse in time, even become damaged perminently or get serious infection, or even blindness.

...but I get terrible dry-eyes and the optician said contacts would be a bad choice for me.

Jon - same problem here but got hold of CibaVision AquaComfort plus Dailies (I've tried more than 5 different types so far). I got 5 pairs on trial from Boots - got on very well with them; get yourself a contact lens prescription, try them out and if you get on OK order them from some where like https://www.contactlenses.co.uk/index.php (they will be much cheaper than Boots).
