How did you connect with the ball after trying out the Explanar for a few swings ? Anything different from the norm?

My 1st shot was crap, but then I relaxed and started hitting the ball better than I have ever done!! I could really feel my left shoulder working smoothly

Unfortunately when I played a few days later I'd forgotten the swing

i paid 400 for mine they retail at 600,i agree alot of money for a training aid.Started playing two years ago had a load of lessions which were a great help, but i found myself standing over the ball with a hundred swing thoughts going through my head. I had a go of the explanar and thought it was great so bought one.Muscle memory kicks in afer a while and i dont find myself standing over the ball with a sorts running through my head.Dont get me wrong its not going to turn you into a great golfer over night, but it helps new golfers feel where they should be in there swing.I have noticed though in my down swing i sometimes would like to drop down on the inside, but cannot do this with the explanar.

steve....I am SO envious.....I really want one of these!

Needless to say, most players who have no clue at all who use this and then try without are hopeless!!!

I guess if you are more or less swinging nicely (on plane) it's just great thing! I'd part with £400 for one in an instant!

realgolferuk, if you go to the range and stick your rear end next to the wall then swing without hitting the wall you will not be very far away with your swingplane.

how can they justify charging 600 quid for one of those no matter how good they may be, there's almost nothing to them!

My plane was too flat until a few weeks ago, it's now more or less directly "at the ball" at the wrist set....that's what my pro wants, or a couple of degrees up from that (and inch or two inside the line)

I was thinking this also, before the days of explanar and roller thingy, quite a few pros had big metal hoops....c'mon boys....there must be someone on here who could cobble one up?

realgoleruk, i tend to swing to flat so i have been doing this drill all winter, seems to be working for me, next time you are down the range give it a we try, just get in your posture stand just a little bit from the wall and try a few slow swings then go a hit some balls, let me know how you get on.

i would consider one of these if it were closer to its proper price, i wouldnt shell out anythin over 100 for that and i wreckon that would be a 50% profit at least for the company

At my range they have a wood one (even through its the busiest in the UK and they rip people off for balls)does exactly the same job for fraction of price.

Had a go once but after 5 minutes I went back to coming over the top!

I could, but I won't. I've invested 30 hrs and endless balls in getting it right.....I video'd my swing yesterday and at the set, if I draw a line out of the end on the butt/grip, it cuts the ball in half.....what more could I want? Good idea, I realise, I'm not knocking it, but I'm done with this now....onto new pastures....sorry mate!! :)
