Do you know of any exotic sounding golf clubs in the UK ?
I know the States have places like 'The Blue Monster', Indian Creek, Dragon Lake etc.

Phew! I thought you might be going Geldof-like - with Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches and Pixie!

The Burma Road is the only one that springs to mind, but there's several 'interesting' place-names that sound a tad exotic.

Beau Desert has to be up there. I always wondered where this magical sounding golf course was and was thoroughly unimpressed when I found out it was round the corner from my friends house in Rugeley.

Best I can come up with for Cornwall is Budock Vean, Merlin or Praa sands.
Then really scraping the barrel with such wonders as The Nicklaus course!
Oh they really have no imagination down here!

Not in the UK, but I always think that Paraparaumu in New Zealand (the real one, not the one in Surrey) has a lovely ring to it.

Except that it's normally abbreviated to 'Pow Pram'!

I don't know about exotic but New Zealand sound unusual, seeing as its in Surrey.
I take it the local area isn't called New Zealand.

Did some research a while back when I worked in the area (Walton on Thames). General consensus was that the major landowner in the area had made his fortune in the Frozen Meat industry, importing NZ lamb etc to Britain in late 19th century. There's plenty of references to Auckland, Wellington and New Zealand in that area, though some references may also have had roots in WWII as Kiwi troops, including me father, were stationed there.

Isn't there a China Lakes in Cornwall?

It's China Fleet country club. Nice course but it's not exotic sounding when you live here as China Fleet is associated with China clay which has produced hideous scars and hills on the south Cornwall landscape, but hey it keeps you paper nice and white and smooth!

Mike just beat me to parasampia.. Now donning ton grove, blue mountain? Near bracknell iirc and ts not very hilly round there!
