I think it blocks them automatically, you have to accept them if you want them otherwise firefox keeps them in order!

Could be the browser as suggested by some - I'm using Opera, and me not getting him (and I can't spot anything in the settings that suggests that's he specifically blocked?)

Yea When I logged on on somebody else's computer on internet explorer he came up but then I went on their safari browser he didn't. It could be an IE thing. Although I don't get him when I use it because I have blocked the annoying little so and so!

I just tried logging in with Explorer and who should I see, Mr Mc himself. The explorer pop up blocker stopped him scaring me but I allowed it and he came up. On Firefox, its never even brought a blocker up!

The point is you shouldn't have to change your bloody browser to avoid something that is clealry circumventing an anti-pop-up system installed in the first place!

It narks me something rotten when people resort to 'use firefox' as a solution to the problem. IE is not at fault here; it's pop-up blocker does the job as intended. However, unscrupulous advertisers try and find ways to break/avoid it.

The solution is for the pop-up maker to follow the bloody rules and not piss people off with unwanted adverts! Grr!

Rant end.

Point taken, but firefox stops it, so if people want it stopped, then I was only offering a solution, I put a gun to no ones head. If it narks you somethin rotten, then just ignore my suggestion, I didn't mean to upset you.

Sorry Tony, I wasn't having a pop at you at all. Working in IT, it really frustrates me that it appears to be accepted practice to offer this kind of solution when it fails to address the actual fault.

I'm not saying you are wrong to offer it as a suggestion at all. My point was aimed at GM/whoever is responsible for that pop-up to stop them forcing people into using different software to allow them to view the site as they wish.

So, in short Tony, you're still my buddy! It's pop-up avoiding ad-spammers that I would like to see up against the wall. I probably should have made it clearer that I wasn't having a pop at anyone in the forum.

Every time we log onto the GM forum we have his ugly mug pop up! I have loads of pop up blockers etc on my computer but he still manages to do it!

Never seen it i'm afraid - the only thing I get from time to time is the GM subscription one.
It could be worse - it could be Charlie Boorman :(
