I've qualified for weekend league only twice, both were ages ago as well. I can't win that qualifying tournament for love nor money. Qualifying for weekend league is harder than actually playing weekend league!

Haha yeah, your opponent's caddie would always mug you right off. I used to laugh when playing multiplayer against another human player, you could press the direction buttons to shout stuff and put them off!

Tell me about it. Got to so many finals and been beaten by ridiculously good guys. Play no-one as good as that when actually qualified. Lost 4 penalty shoot-outs and was actually pretty surprised at how well I did. Could probably have got Gold 1 if I'd played all my games.

The problem is that division 1 players and previous week's gold players who have already qualified are still allowed to play the qualifying cup, which they do for the coins and/or pack reward. So you still end up facing really good players in the semis and final, players who have already qualified so in my opinion shouldn't be allowed to play it. They should bring back separate cups for rewards like they had before. I have no idea why they got rid of the bronze, silver and gold cups, I used to like them. Just another thing they've done to make the game worse really.

Bit of a bump but I pre-ordered Everybody's Golf yesterday - only a month to go now! Feels like I've honestly been waiting a year for this game to come out.

In the last couple of months I've been playing this pretty much non-stop! I'm now playing Tour 7, with over 700k coins in the bank and around 1200 trophies. I love the tournaments they do every now and then, they usually seem to tie in with the real life majors so I'm expecting a new one next week...

The game finally arrived yesterday! Bit different to the old games as you now create your own golfer and use him in all of the game modes, seemingly. I haven't gone online yet because I want to build my character's skills up a bit first. It's essentially the same old game but with a big makeover. I think it's going to be just as addictive.

Yes, got mine yesterday and spent a few hours playing. Lots of pre-amble but the game is much the same. Look of the game seems a tiny bit harsher than previous version. Need time to build up the character so I don't have to lay up on par 4s! I'm not on PSN currently, so off-line games for me.

God yeah, that was the only downer for me - having to skip through about 30 lines of dialogue to get anywhere. That'll ease up as you go along though. And yeah it looks like it'll take a while to build the yardage up. Can just about drive over 200 yards using the power boost at the minute.
I'm hoping the array of other playable characters is as good as the old games though, because at the moment that seems very different. I managed to win two vs battles last night but they were both rubbish characters who I suspect I'll never use in any mode. Not even sure if you can use characters other than your own at the moment.. maybe in offline multiplayer.

In the last version I played as Kratos. Bombed it but a bit wayward! I think I got up to a highish level, something like 17??! I love getting superspin bats and ball, getting mega blue trail backspin!
I've a few challenge battles awaiting. Want to get my stats up before tackling that.

It doesn't take that long to get your distance up a bit, especially after I unlocked Big Air clubs yesterday. Had my first go online but only managed 4 under round 9 holes. Still, online seems to be pretty similar to the main game, you just go on and play a round and see how you do. There's a daily leaderboard of everyone, and also a challenge leaderboard of like 10 people - I was third in that one. I just want to unlock the other courses now though really.

On the Crash B theme, I hope they update CTR (Crash Team Racing). Played that to death years ago.

You're right. This is the only major annoyance with the game to be honest. I don't need a ten minute conversation about how to use backspin and drive a golf cart and what 'mega cup' means before every vs. battle ffs. The actual gameplay is excellent though, really enjoying it still. I'm glad they've kept everything that was good about the x-years-ago versions of the game.
One weird thing though is with how each club develops independently - somehow, and it must to do with the design of the first level course that you play - my 3 iron now goes further than the 5 wood despite it having been the other way round initially. There barely seems to have been many opportunities to use the 5W, hence it has been left behind in the development. Feel like I need to play one dummy round where I tee off with it every time just so it catches up!
