Having to play 3 in Europe shouldn't be tricky for them unless they fail to qualify for the Open or choose not to play Wentworth.
There are plenty of big money events for them to pick from. And lets face it, they go where the money is.
AS for the RCup making qualification essentially harder for those on both tours seems to me to lead to a potentially weaker team. Unless they change the qualification process, racking up top 10's in the US might not get you on the team, but racking up top 10's on the European Tour could.

How about them looking at the other end of the spectrum and lowering the exemptions to top 80....there is far to many journeymen making a great living out of the game and not enough opportunities for the new breed to break into the top flight of the game.

The player's comittee, Tommy Bjorn, Jamie Spence etc. has quite a big influence in things with the tour. Probably a lot of pressure from their peers to ensure that the nest is fluffed as much as possible.

Its the Ryder Cup team that will suffer long term unless selection is heavily weighted towards the World Points list. I don't think it will be long before Kaymer and McIlroy are playing a majority of their golf on the PGA Tour.
Playing 3 in Continental Europe excluding the Open and the Wentworth should not be a big issue. Loch Lomond, the German BMW, Dunhill Links and Valderama should be amongst 3 that are in most players itineries each season?

Am I the only one who feels the Ryder Cup selection methodoligy is flawed?
No other sport is the manager/captain handcuffed with his selection. Football, Rugby etc the managers choose the team and pick who they want. Fabio does not HAVE to pick someone neither does Martin Johnson. They pick the players they believe can do the job and are in form at the time.
It is time the European Tour decided to pick a Captain and let him pick the team he wants. Then everyone who deserves a place will/can be picked.
