Guys, I haven't been posting here for a while but still prectice most days.

I am now looking to buy Ben Ross rescuse clubs and not quite sure what is the main different from fairway woods?

I can hit iron very well (comparing to woods) so would the rescue improve my game? and what number shall i buy? (choice of 17,20,23,26!)

thank you

Rescue woods usually replace the harder to hit long irons in the bag. I can't hit a 3 iron for toffee, so have a 20 degree Mizuno hybrid in the bag instead. I find that I can hit this well off the deck, off the tee and even out of the semi rough, where I would really struggle with the iron. I also find I can shape the ball much easier with it, being able to fade or draw the ball quite successfully.
You can replace virtually all of your irons with hybrids nowadays, but most people tend to stick with the lower lofts and replace their 2,3,4 and sometimes 5 irons with them.
If you hit your longer irons really well, then a hybrid may not be the game improvent club you need although I could see the benefit of replacing a 5 wood with say a 17 degree hybrid because it's shorter shaft makes it easier to get on with. If my driving is a little off, I find the 3 hybrid much more confidence inspiring and will at least keep me in play with a reasonably amount of distance. At The Addington on Tuesday there were quite a few very tight driving holes and lots of trees.....a wayward drive would have cost me dearly. The hybrid got quite a lot of use on Tuesday!

Great how we are all so different - I will always grab my 5 wood unless the rough is so rough to force me to use the hybrid
