England vrs Scotland

England will field a vastly weakened side as the game is just before the start of the PL season so all the big names will be carrying injuries which will miraculously heal a few days later.
Anyway, England friendlies are a chance for players from West Ham, Aston Villa, Norwich, etc to get caps.

England to win 7-0. :mmm:

Seems to be a lot of negativity about this fixture, i am old enough to remember the old home internationals and used to look forward to them at the end of the season, i also think the teams benefited from the competitive nature of the games. I for one will be looking forward to this and the banter that goes with it, (ie the flag wavers) doesnt all have to be nasty and the majority will take it for what it is a game of football and enjoy the occasion win lose or draw.

I am talking about a few on here who go way beyond banter and get rather offensive Alnecosse! I always enjoy a friendly Scotland vs England match and have nothing negative to say about the match at all mate, sometimes people get caught up in racist aggro in the guise of patriotism and it winds me up! We are all living on the same island after all.

It'll be a chance for Hodgson to look at some new blood in time for the WC qualifiers and even if Scotland field a full team, I can see England being too strong but predict a 2-1 win. I'd love to see the fixture return to the calendar on a regular basis but with so many games already I can't see it happening.

There is bound to be a huge amount of jingoistic sabre rattling in the build up whipped into a frenzy by the hutter red top tabloids. At the end of the day its a game of football with nothing on the outcome
