Pretty quite year course wise for me, only one new one.

1. Best Course you have played - Ladybank, finally ticked it off after many years of wanting.

2. Best greens you have played - West Lancs, still not seen a bobble in the 10+ times I've played there.

3. Hardest Course - Silloth, blowing a hoolie!!

4 Best Value - Silloth, pound for pound the best value golf I've played anywhere.

5. Notable Mentions - Pleasington as it's now my home track ;-)

1. Best Course you have played - Sunningdale Old

2. Best greens you have played - West Lancs and St Annes Old Links

3. Hardest Course - Hoylake of the back tees in what felt like a force 10 !

4 Best Value - Comrie (Perthshire) but have to mention the deal LQ got at Sunningdale and New Zealand

5. Notable Mention - Sandiway, Stockport, Fairhaven and Bolton Old Links

and i'll add :-

6. Most underwhelming - Celtic Manor 2010

1. Best Course you have played - The Old Course. Just spiritual and awe inspiring

2. Best greens you have played - Highland Gate in South Africa. Amazing conditioning and just outrageously true.

3. Hardest Course - Saunton East. Hard but so beautiful

4 Best Value - St Andrews. Lucky enough to play with a ticket holder

5. Notable Mentions - St Michaels has a superb back nine. Royal North Devon gets a mention for the most over rated field with pins on it.

Saying this, I still have a trip to Northern Ireland coming up where Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, both Ballyliffen Courses and Scrabo are all getting a whirl might change my judgement

i don’t get that you can say that about RND when the old course is basically exactly the same..... one massive field with no undulations etc

No way. Those courses are nowhere near the same nor should they be mentioned in the same breath. The Old Course is bloody amazing while RND was bloody awful
